HeartCode PALS is the AHA’s blended learning delivery method for the AHA’s Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) course. HeartCode PALS uses a series of videos and simulated pediatric emergencies to reinforce the important concepts of a systematic approach to pediatric assessment, basic life support, PALS treatment algorithms, effective resuscitation, and team dynamics.

HeartCode blended learning delivers quality resuscitation education regardless of where providers are located and gives them more control to complete the course at their own pace.

The HeartCode PALS 2020 Guidelines use a personalized adaptive algorithm that sets students on the most efficient path to mastery. Students follow a continuously adapting learning path that is personalized by their own inputs: their performance, and their self- reported confidence level related to each probing question. The course content is presented in the form of self-directed learning content, probing questions, and Cognitive Assessment Activities (CAAs).

Providers must first complete the online portion of HeartCode PALS and then contact Emergency Medical Educators to schedule the hands-on skills assessment.

Cost of course includes access to the HeartCode PALS online course, access to PALS Provider Manual eBook (20-3120), hands-on skills assessment and PALS eCard.

The HeartCode PALS online key will be emailed from eLearning@heart.org within 24 hours of placing order.

Once the course is activated through the American Heart Association eLearning website, it will not be refundable.
